Trans fat, also known as partially hydrogenated oils, is bad fat! Trans fats is simply an added ingredient that helps extend the shelf life of a product or to achieve a certain taste or texture. In other words, no health benefits! They are found mostly in processed foods and fast food, which is one reason why it’s devastating to your weight. The reason why trans fats are so bad is because they raise your bad cholesterol levels and lower the good levels. This change is a big factor in heart disease and the risk of heart attacks.[1]
Read the labels! You should only be consuming at most 1 percent of trans fat in your diet. If you notice there is more trans fat in the foods you are eating, make a change!
