Barefoot Walking

barefoot walking

Barefoot walking builds strength of the small muscles inside of the arch of the foot, providing greater stability, balance and support. [1]   The toes function better to grip the ground.  Shoes actually can make our foot muscles weaker because shoes do not allow foot structures to move freely.

Try walking barefooted today on a soft surface such as carpet, sand or grass.  How did you feel afterwards?
