Body Fat and Breast Cancer

The risk of breast cancer is related to obesity.[1] Fat cells produce estrogen in addition to the ovaries.  After menopause, fat becomes the primary site where estrogen is manufactured in your body. Higher levels of insulin and insulin-like growth factor–1 (IGF-1), also linked to obesity, significantly increase breast cancer risk. About 20 to 30 percent of all postmenopausal breast cancers are thought to be caused primarily by obesity.
Reduce your fat percentage by doing resistance exercises such as weight training.  When you increase your muscles, they burn more fat naturally.
