Chromium Deficiency

sugarHigh consumption of refined sugar and grains causes deficiency in chromium.[1] Chromium is an essential trace mineral that enhances the body’s sensitivity to insulin for sugar and fat metabolism as it facilitates insulin’s uptake of glucose into the cells. The preferred form of chromium is chromium picolinate, and the recommended dosage for blood sugar support is 200 mcg daily, taken with meals.

If your sugar level is not well controlled, eat foods rich in chromium, such as potatoes, garlic, grapes, broccoli, whole grains, green beans, apples, and bananas.
