Create Your Own Natural Fragrant Potpourri

Nothing smells better than fresh citrus in the summertime or cool peppermint during winter. If you don’t like burning candles, try making your own potpourri. For a citrus mix: 2 tablespoons of dried orris root, 5 tablespoons of bearberry leaves, ½ cup of dried yarro blooms, ½ cup of lemon verbena, ¼ cup of dried safflower blossoms, ¼ cup dried orange slices, and several drops of either lemon or an essential oil. For a peppermint mix: ½ cup of dried rose petals, ¼ cup of black peppermint, 1 tablespoon of lemon rind, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of orris root.[1]

Here’s a tip! After you have mixed all the ingredients, store them in a sealed container for a few days before you set it out to maximize the scent.
