Aspartame, which is the artificial sweetener in almost all diet sodas, contains toxic methanol. Methanol breaks down into phenylalanine and aspartic acid, both of which can cause severe headaches, seizures, vision impairment, dizziness, rashes, extreme fatigue, depression, personality changes, confusion, memory loss, weight gain, diabetes and many other health problems.
