Do You Have a Flat Tire?

Think of your feet as tires to a car.  If you have a flat tire you can’t go anywhere and if you have a flat foot you can’t really go anywhere either.  Flat feet, or over pronation, is caused by weakened muscles due to heavy strain, such as standing or walking for long periods of time, aging and wearing shoes without proper arch support. When you have a flat foot, your foot shifts pressure to other parts of you foot causing pain and could lead to more serious problems such as heel spurs, ankle sprains, hip and lower back pain, and arthritis.[1]

If you have flat feet you need to see a podiatrist to evaluate a pair of custom made orthotics that would be helpful. A good pair of orthotics will help balance your whole body from your feet up!
