Don’t Shave Before Nail Salons

You may think you should shave your legs before getting a pedicure at a nail salon, but don’t!
Freshly shaven skin opens you up to bacteria that can cause infections in your skin. The next
time you plan to get a pedicure at a nail salon, be sure to not shave your legs for at least 24 hours.[1]

It is easier to contract bacteria from pedicure tubs if your legs are freshly shaven. Avoid shaving
until after a pedicure and request your tub be rinsed with disinfectant before you start to soak.
