Exercise Eases Digestion

A study has concluded that indigestion can be relieved after a meal with mild exercise. Mild exercise helps move food through the stomach faster, aiding digestion. It is important not to conduct rigorous exercise after a large meal. Instead, eat and exercise light with activities such as walking or yoga. Certain twisting yoga moves, for example, can increase blood flow in your bowels and strengthen your intestines.*

Try a “seated twist,” a yoga move that helps ease your digestion. Sit on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you. Bend your right foot over your left knee, and place it on the floor. Inhale, exhale, switch, and repeat.
