How to Cure Bad Smell on Your Feet

Foot odor is produced by bacteria and/or fungus that grows in the shoes and attaches to the skin. Some bacteria can actually eat away the top layer of the skin, producing a foul odor.  Hair on your feet, especially on your toes, may contribute to the odor’s intensity by adding surface area in which bacteria can thrive.  Some synthetic materials used in shoes, when mixed with sweat and bacteria, can produce smelly feet.

Use four pinches of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) daily to eliminate the odor.  Use two pinches inside the sock and two on the insole of the shoe.  Try soaking your feet in a tub of iced tea.  Use zinc and castor oil cream on the feet to reduce odor. [1]
