Marble is a gorgeous addition to your home and to keep it that way you need to know how to clean it. If you want to avoid harsh chemicals try going a more natural route. Add three tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water and mix it well. Apply with a chamois cloth and allow to air dry for a few hours before rinsing with a fresh cloth and clean water. Another method is to crush several sticks of white chalk into a fine powder and apply with a damp chamois cloth. Rinse immediately with a fresh cloth and warm water.
Be careful with cleaning mixtures that include lemon juice. It’s great for cleaning marble of rust stains, but if you let it dry it can cause damage or discoloration.
