Increase Your Steps

The majority of Americans walk fewer than 2,000 steps each day, which is less than one mile. It is well known that you need to walk at least 10,000 steps—or five miles—a day to stay healthy.* Walking the recommended amount takes about one hour and forty minutes. You need to increase your number of steps to stay healthy.

Today, walk up the stairs instead of taking elevators or escalators. Park farther away and walk to stores or your office rather than fighting for the closest spot.
