Meat as Side Dishes

A meat-based diet, or meat as a main dish diet, is high in saturated fat, which your body converts to cholesterol. Such diets are also high in iron, an oxidant that makes cholesterol more likely to clog your arteries. Iron also causes the formation of free radicals, which promotes cancer and aging.[1] A meat-based diet is low in antioxidants that help prevent this from occurring.

Rather than having meat as a main dish, try meat as a side dish of plant based foods. Try chicken salad or fish salad. Use vegetables as the main course and sprinkle meat over the vegetables.
