Obesity and Aging

Being obese has the same effect as smoking in terms of premature aging.  About one-third of American adults are considered obese!  Obesity can take as many as 10 years off your life, which is the same as if you were a lifelong smoker.  Even adults who were only 40 pounds overweight could be losing as many as three years off their life.  Obesity causes premature aging issues such as heart disease and stroke by rising blood pressure, unhealthy blood cholesterol and the development of diabetes.[1]

Nutrition and exercise are the most fundamental ways to keep our bodies healthy and yet they are the first to go to save a little time.  Stop creating opportunities that take from your life and start living healthy to add to your life!
