Quinoa, a Great Alternative to Rice and Pasta

Quinoa looks like a grain, but it’s a seed of a leafy green plant native to South America.  It is rich in protein, fiber, magnesium and potassium.  Quinoa has a low glycemic index and is an excellent alternative to starchy grains and pasta.[1] It is also wonderful for those who have gluten allergy.
