Swollen Feet from Inactivity

People who are inactive are prone to swelling in the legs and feet (also known as edema). When your leg muscles are moving, their contractions are what keep your blood circulating throughout your body. Without this movement, blood and fluid will start to pool in your legs and feet. If you have to be on a long plane flight or you have a long day at work, get up and walk around for 10 minutes every so often to get your blood circulating again. After a long day, come home and elevate your feet for 30 minutes to bring the blood back to your heart.[1]

Don’t forget to keep active during the day! Take a break and relieve stress by taking a short walk to keep yourself happy and healthy.
