Trim Your Toenails Correctly

Onychocryptosis, or ingrown toenail, is a very common problem.  You can fix this by trimming your toenail correctly.  First, use toenail clippers and not fingernail clippers because they are meant to handle the thicker nail.  Second, always cut straight across and never down the sides.  Third, do not tear the nail.  This will cause sensitivity and infection.  Fourth, always cut dry and in small cuts.  And lastly, do not cut all the way down for this can also cause infection from sensitivity and shoe pressure.[1]

Avoid a surgical procedure and cut those nails properly.  You depend on your feet everyday, so take care of them!
