Watch out for Triclosan Products

When it comes to household products; such as soaps, toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, face wash, clothes, and some baby products, be on the look out for an ingredient called Triclosan. Triclosan is a toxic antimicrobial pesticide that has the ability to disrupt the heart’s ability to contract its muscle fibers, impair calcium channels and reproductive hormone activity, cell signaling in the brain, and can cause cardiac muscle failure. You most likely have BPA-free products in your home and just like BPA, triclosan acts as an endocrine disruptor.[1]

When it comes to consumer products, there are a lot of dangerous and cheap ingredients involved. Though we can’t solve that problem immediately, we can be smart and safe about what we purchase!
