Why Anger May Shorten Your Life

Men who feel that they get angry easily have an increased risk of early death. In one study, those in the angriest 25 percent were 1.57 times more likely to die early. While we cannot always control our anger, learning how to implement constructive anger could have health benefits. Constructive anger is when people acknowledge and calmly discuss their angry feelings and work toward healthy solutions. *

Battle anger by breathing deeply through your nose and out of your mouth. Find a mantra such as “relax” to repeat inside of your head, or use your imagination to visualize a relaxing experience. You can also engage in calming stretching exercises.
