Yawning is an involuntary action that our body does even before we are born. We associate it with being tired, but did you know that yawning has its health benefits? Yawning is important to the brain because it acts as a natural thermostat for when the brain starts to heat up. Yawning allows an influx of cool air to calm and cool the brain bringing it back to a normal temperature. Yawning also helps stretch your eardrums and facial muscles; it provides oxygen to your brain and bloodstream as well as enhances your focus and concentration.
